Welcome to Calgary Memories.com. Here are my VIGNETTES OF THE PAST - tales of early Calgary and memories of my childhood growing up in what is now Pump Hill. My PHOTO ALBUM is full of old snapshots of those days that will bring back some memories and show life in Calgary and area as it was from the turn of the 20th century up to and including the 1950’s. You can read more about my family background and my interest in local history under ABOUT CLANCY.
You too can add to Calgary Memories.com by posting your own memories and anecdotes to this website by going to YOUR STORIES. To send your photographs, just click CONTACT and I will arrange to have them posted to the website. Contributions might pertain to areas south of 50th Avenue S.W., at one time Calgary’s southernmost boundary, but other parts of old Calgary and surrounding areas are certainly not excluded. My hope is that my Vignettes will evoke some memories of your own or perhaps stories told by your parents and grandparents, and that together we can chronicle everyday life in the past of this great city. Clicking on LINKS will bring you to some websites that I think will be useful to anyone wanting to explore more about Calgary’s history or who are ready to embark on compiling their own family histories. I’ll look forward to hearing from you soon. To e-mail me directly click on CONTACT. Sincerely
